Meet the Team

Nate has served in ministry for more than 25 years and is passionate about helping people know and follow Jesus. Originally from southern Illinois, he spent 13 years serving in Jasper County before God led his family here. He graduated from St. Louis Christian College with a degree in Preaching Ministry and loves sharing God’s Word in ways that encourage and strengthen others.

Nate and his wife, Vicky, were married in 2001 and have three sons: Patrick, Brandt, and Jarrett. Vicky is an educator with a heart for helping others, and together they live by their family verses,
Colossians 3:17 and 23, seeking to honor God in all they do.

Outside of ministry, Nate enjoys hunting, fishing, biking, and reading books by his favorite author, Max Lucado. He is grateful for every opportunity to serve and to help others grow in their faith.

Garrett grew up in Hays and moved to Norton over a decade ago. Before joining the staff in 2021, he served at NCC as a deacon and youth sponsor. He graduated from Lincoln Seminary/Ozark Christian College with a MA in Christian Ministry and is passionate about helping people grow in their faith.

Garrett and his wife, Andrea, have three children: Brooks, Hannah Lee, and Will. Their families have deep roots in Norton County. Garrett’s grandparents were longtime members of NCC, and his grandfather even placed the cornerstone of the church. Andrea is from Almena, where her family has lived for generations. Together, Garrett and Andrea share a love for this church, their community, and the people who make it home.
 
When he’s not serving in ministry, Garrett enjoys sports and coaching, ranching and time with family. His heart is to help seekers find the Lord and walk with them as they grow in maturity and faith.

Mary grew up in Almena, Kansas, and graduated from Northern Valley High School. After high school, she spent a year in Ersekë, Albania, attending Crossroads Bible School and serving in mission work. She then spent a year at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colorado, studying Youth Ministry.

Before joining the staff at Norton Christian Church, Mary completed a ministry internship with Teens for Christ in northwest Kansas. Through her education and ministry experiences, God continued to grow her heart for working with students and helping them know and follow Jesus.

Mary is passionate about building relationships with junior high and high school students and walking alongside them as they grow in their faith. Her desire is for students to know Jesus personally, feel like they have a place where they belong, and learn what it looks like to follow Him in their everyday lives.

Outside of ministry, Mary enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, sports, and being outside. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve at Norton Christian Church and excited to see what God does in the lives of its students.
